Clinical study at Ersta Hospital has started!
In January 2023 we started including the first patient to our clinical study at Ersta Hospital in Stockholm. We will recruit 50 patients undergoing planned surgery and the aim is to examine cognitive performance before surgery and after surgery with digital neuropsychological tests. We will also interview the patients 1 month after surgery to explore subjective symtoms of delayed neurocognitive recovery.
January 23 2023 our article ”That’s how we like to do it – The Over Prescription of Narcotic Pain Medication after Discharge” was published in Journal of PeriAnesthesia Nursing.

Presentation of our research
Our PhD students Anahita Amirpour & Karin Liander held an oral presentation about brain health after surgery and presented preliminary findings from their studies at the national conference in anesthesia and intensive care (SFAI/ANIVA-veckan) in Uppsala, Sweden. Around 300 people attended the presentation.
Our PhD student Anahita Amirpour poster presented her first study where she has compared two different cognitive test methods – analog vs digital with cognitively healthy seniors. Around 50 interested people attended the poster presentation and asked questions at Sweden’s biggest annual surgery conference – Kirurgveckan 2022 in Stockholm, Sweden.
